PLEASE NOTE: Any images remain the copyright of the rights holder and may not be reproduced without express written permission unless where stated.

Do you have some digital steam train photos that you would like to add to our website? If so, you must supply complete caption info with your photos. Send us loco number, name (where applicable), class & region of origin. Also, where exactly was the photo taken? When was it taken? Was it taken at a special event? Who was the photographer? All this information is essential. Without it, your photos will be rejected.

To send us a photo or photos, attach them to an e-mail along with all the related info, but ......

BEFORE ATTACHING IMAGES - READ THE GUIDELINES BELOW !!!

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES !!!

** *** *** ***

DO NOT SEND
RAW, 'STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA' IMAGES !!!
RAW IMAGES WILL BE IMMEDIATELY RECYCLED !!!

*** *** *** ***

Depending on your camera settings, images of this type may be several megabytes in size. Instead, resize them to a manageable size. The filesize should not exceed 500KBs per image. The image size should not exceed 900 pixels x 600 pixels.

1. Only attach a small number of images to a single e-mail. Up to 8 images is acceptable.
2. Images are only acceptable in JPEG format.
3. Always supply good caption info for each image (for full details, see above).
4. Avoid sending photos which are very similar to photos that are already onsite.
5. Do not send us photos that are already available at another site or that you plan to upload to another site.
6. Priority will be given to photos of current charters and events and to rare archive photos taken in the 50's and 60's.
7. The photographer's name must be clearly stated in the e-mail to which the image(s) are attached.

One point that I must emphasise regarding caption text. Please send in caption info exactly as you want to see it on site. Do not abbreviate. Double check your spelling. Ensure that punctuation and spacing is correct. Use upper and lower case correctly. If your submitted captions are messy it's a case of WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get), warts and all.

Please bear in mind that we reserve the right to resize, crop or adjust the brightness of your photos where necessary.

Also bear in mind that large numbers of images are submitted every week. Our selection process is tight and inevitably subjective. We reserve the right to decide which submitted images are suitable for inclusion onsite. We regret that we cannot offer explanations as to why specific images are accepted or rejected.
