Here's what photographer John Chapman had to say - 'It was hauling 8 fully loaded coaches – the heaviest load, if I recall correctly, permitted for a class 7 “Castle” to take over the bank unaided and it made a damn fine sight. The sound was amazing and we could hear it “shouting to the sky” (as Ian Allan used to say), long before it came into view.'
